Abu Dhabi's Department of Municipalities and Transport has scheduled the AED2.85 billion first phase of Mid-Island Parkway for completion in 2027. Its 1 October announcement identifies a connection between Saadiyat Island and the Umm Yifeenah Central Interchange.

DMT expects the link to shorten journeys towards Reem Island and Abu Dhabi's main island from 25 to 10 minutes. These are anticipated journey times after opening, not today's driving conditions. The works include a crossing beneath Khor Laffan and walking and cycling connections.

The distinction matters when comparing homes: existing access and planned access should be evaluated separately. A new road may improve convenience, but the announcement does not establish a property-price uplift.

A subsequent phase extends towards Sas Al Nakhl, Al Raha Beach and Khalifa City. The 2027 target should not be applied to that wider programme.
